About GEnetics NEtwork Amsterdam
The GEnetics NEtwork Amsterdam (GENE Amsterdam) is an initiative by Amsterdam-based scientists working in human genetics research. Amsterdam hosts several research groups from different institutes working in human genetics; with our network we like to stimulate knowledge exchange and collaboration between these groups.
At the GENE Amsterdam website you can find recent research highlights, personal pages of our members, relevant events, and information about courses and vacancies and internships in the field of human genetics.
GENE Amsterdam also organises monthly research meetings where recent scientific studies are presented and discussed. Annually, we also organise a GeNe Amsterdam research day where we come together to present our work to each other.
If you are interested in joining us, would like to subscribe to our mailing list, or if you have any upcoming event you would like us to post, please send us a message through the contact form.

Calender / Events
GENE Amsterdam organises monthly research meetings. The purpose of these meetings is to learn from each other’s expertise across disciplines and institutes in the Amsterdam area. Presenters present either their own work or a recent publication to inspire a discussion. The meetings are held every first Wednesday of the month at 10.30 (except for holidays). When possible, the meetings are hybrid (in-person/via zoom) followed by a lunch. Everybody is welcome to join in the meetings! If you would like to be added to the mailing list, please send us a message through the contact form.
The next research meeting is June 7th (10.30-11.30). Alex Lipov will present his work on exploring the complex spectrum of dominance and recessiveness in genetic cardiomyopathies. The meeting will be online via zoom, and live at the AMC (E2-166) including lunch!
